RM2B0121H–Vietnam: Nguyen Van Troi (1947-1964), NLF Fighter, about to be executed, Saigon, October 15, 1964. Nguyen Van Troi (1947 – October 15, 1964) was a Viet Cong (National Liberation Front) fighter. He became known after being captured by the South Vietnamese when trying to assassinate United States Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and future ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. who were visiting South Vietnam in May 1963. He was executed by firing squad aged 17 years. His execution was filmed, and he remained defiant to the end. His final words as the shots were fired were 'Long Live Vietnam!'.

Pierre Dumoulin-Borie (20 February 1808 - 24 November 1838) was a French Catholic missionary priest and a member of the Paris Foreign Missions Society. He was brought to Saigon by Chinese smugglers in an attempt to circumpass the ban on proselytising, where he joined the South Tonkin mission. Though he faced persecution, he persevered in his missionary work until he was arrested in 1838. He was executed by beheading on 24 November 1838. He was canonised as a Catholic saint in 1988.

Joseph Marchand (August 17, 1803 – November 30, 1835) was a French missionary in Vietnam, and a member of the Paris Foreign Missions Society. Marchand was born in Passavant, in the Doubs department of France. In 1833, he joined the Lê Văn Khôi revolt by Lê Văn Khôi, son of the late governor of southern Vietnam Lê Văn Duyệt. Khoi and Marchand vowed to overthrow Emperor Minh Mạng and replace him with My Duong, the son of Minh Mạng's late elder brother Nguyễn Phúc Cảnh, who were both Catholics.
