Group of cheerleaders posing with ribbons and awards

The Tyler High Cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleader Association's 4-day Cheer Camp at the University of Texas at Arlington where they went to learn new material, prepare GameDay strategies, work on team bonding, and compete against other high school squads.
Tyler High came home with numerous group and individual awards:
Both Varsity and Junior Varsity squads received a spirit stick 3 of the 4 days of camp.
Junior Varsity received Excellent Red Ribbon Day 2 for Situational Sideline and Cheer, Excellent Red Ribbon Day 3 for Camp Dance, 3rd Place for Camp Dance in the Junior Varsity Division, and 3rd Place for Situational Cheer in the Junior Varsity Division.
Varsity received Excellent Red Ribbon Day 2 for Situational Sideline and Cheer, Superior Blue Ribbon Day 3 for Camp Dance, 2nd Place for Camp Dance in the Small Varsity Division, 1st Place for Situational Cheer in the Small Varsity Division, and Overall Most Improved Squad at Camp.

Tyler High Varsity had 4 girls make All-American Cheerleaders after a tryout in front of the whole Camp (Haylee Wideman, Tra'Mia Hampton, Kaylee Parson, and Kaleaha Jackson).
Two of the Varsity girls received the honor of the "Pin It Forward" Award by showing acts of leadership, kindness, and overall spirit. Haylee Wideman was personally pinned by UCA Staff, and Germany Butler was pinned by a member of the Crossroads High School Squad. Both girls represent the definition of what a "Cheerleader" should be.

Way to go Lions Cheerleaders on a successful camp!
