Tech was out today. I had internet for less than 2 hours. I am beginning to think Spectrum is a gym. Get up, walk to the modem and router, bend over, unplug, wait, bend over again, put plug in, wait... but it still isn't working, but the app says no outages.
Saw this in my draft folder. Let me add to it. 5 techs out each, interrupting my day. Modem exchanged. We have "had" Spectrum since March 18. In the first month, I got an 82% credit because it was down 82% of the time. In the next 6 weeks, we had no internet 1 to 3 times a week. With the last appointment, May 24, I told hubby that if it goes down again, I am done. Guess what, May 31 it has been down 5 hours and is expected to be down 3 to 4 more. SPECTRUM, YOU WILL BE CANCELED 4 DAYS BEFORE MY NEXT BILLING DATE. YOU CHARGE TOO MUCH FOR EXCEPTIONALLY LOUSY SERVICE. So glad our cell service isn't with you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 23, 2023Previous reviewI rated the store employees, and now I will rate the service. We self installed on March 13, but no one mentioned that while I was being billed for that day, it wasn't going to work until a tech came out. We spent so much time on March 13 trying to install something that never was going to work.
Well, today is March 23, and our service has mostly been down. Now they say it is a wiring problem, so we need another visit from tech. So, there is no streaming, alexa doesn't understand, the lights won't work, and there is no nest thermostat for me. I can't tell you the hours we have spent on the phone, going to pick up Spectrum modem and router (which aren't working), rebooting, and searching the internet for other companies and equipment. During the 10 days we paid for the internet, it has not worked at all for 6 days. Tomorrow will make it 7 out of 11. The other days, it goes off for hours. Or it will go off sporatically (never to return) when we are streaming something good. What good is internet that functions like a strobe light? On, off, on, off. Do you guys realize how frustrated I am?
I am easy to please. Just give me something that works at a fair price. At the moment, your 300 speed doesn't matter because my speed is 0. I am seriously considering totally dumping the internet and just using my phone. My phone is xfinity and it works. Thank God I have unlimited data there. Don't bother with Spectrum chat....there is no live agent. This is depressing. Does anyone HEAR ME?Mar 14, 2023Previous reviewSeems when you rate spectrum, you really are rating all your contacts. I almost returned to Breezeline for the $20 price but I reread my reviews and everyone else's reviews and decided the savings wasn't worth all the things that are bad about Breezeline. I opted for Spectrum.
Ayesha at the Spectrum Easton store is extremely competent and does not try to oversell you. The Taylor Square station tried to oversell a few months ago. I like people that will present options but listen to you.
We were going to use our own router modem which says it works with 300mbps but is only approved by Spectrum for their 100 plans which are no longer offered. It didn't work. More on that later. Looking on Amazon for a better modem/router that was refurbished, we came to the conclusion that it would take at least 2 years 4 months for us to break even. And if Spectrum raises our rates in a year, I'm gone. So we decided with those constraints to go back to Spectrum and get their router and their modem. We later found out from the technician that Spectrum's router and modem will separately update and are a better option than a combined router/modem.
Now we are setting up our internet. But the light keeps blinking even after the 20 min reset time. So we follow the instructions again, download the app, search YouTube with no luck. Reluctantly we call tech support. The first guy was useless. He had us redo everything we had done several times. He then handed us off to a technician. The tech said that he could see we had Spectrum near our house, just not INTO our house. So why is my first day of service yesterday instead of today?
And why does Spectrum not mention in the self setup, that if your light is blinking and you are new to Spectrum, technicians have to come out to your house to run a wire? Maybe our old router would have worked.
Anyway by now we are 5.5 hours from the moment we set foot into Easton and apparently someone set us up for a tech visit the next day but never told us.
The next morning, Johnny the tech shows up, actually early. He spent alot of time running the line, checking it into the house. Very pleased with him. So another couple of hours changing all my settings to all our "smart" things after he left.
Then I start getting Zoom calls. I thought they wanted me to rate their service? I really liked Johnny and Ayiesha. Nope, I guess I qualify for a week of free TV which I don't want. So one more number I can block on my phone. And noone knows Johnny and Ayiesha were spectacular.
Overall now that just about everything is working, I am pleased. Spectrum just needs to tweak their self install instructions. I could see Spectrum wifi on my phone but had no clue it was close but just wouldn't be operationable without a tech visit.
Sure hope they keep my rates close to the same. I really don't want to go through this again. - Marcia K.Westerville, OH02Jul 23, 2023
Spectrum is the absolute worst company! They are claiming I did not return equipment from last year and owe them $194! Lol! I returned their equipment so they're just trying to steal money from people! Also, they claim I requested a disconnection recently which I did not! They are so unreliable and not to be trusted! BEWARE OF SPECTRUM! They are CROOKS! I am going to be filing a civil lawsuit against them!

if you use spectrum as your provider for anything i would suggest a different location, but at this point, i really think you should avoid the company in its entirety.
i went to this location after moving to columbus in order to purchase internet. the person i spoke to offered me a promotional deal that would make their internet and cable price much cheaper and last a year. when i purchased, she told me it would likely display "much higher" on my bill until she cleared it with her managed, but to "not panic" as it would be adjusted.
my bill was supposed to total 65 dollars, or 85 with spectrum's "activation fee". it came out to 120.
i emailed the salesperson i talked to at this store after the 48 hour waiting period, asking when it would be adjusted. she couldn't give me an answer. ultimately, all i could get from her was a "well, it looks like it will be higher this time, but it should be the normal price next time". i told her that wouldn't work for me, since it wasn't the price she promised me explicitly-- and by a substantial amount. she stopped replying to me. i had to prod her repeatedly through her email address, to receive only a "my manager is on vacation for the next week, but we'll see what we can do". conveniently, that week was the same time my bill was due.
i haven't gotten anything else from her, and can only assume that she was hoping i would be quiet and pay the extra since she already got her sales commission.
so i called the company. the first person i talked to had no idea about the deal i was referring to and instead offered to simply strike the cable from the package. when i called again, the second individual i spoke to was very understanding. he said i would be able to pay the 85, and that our internet wouldn't be shut off, and they would correct it. i (understandably at this point) didn't trust that that would be the case, and asked if i could pay the full 120 and have it rolled over to my next bill.
guess whose second spectrum bill just came?
no credit. no adjusted price. either the second agent i spoke to lied directly to my face, didn't pass it on to their manager, or the manager just decided we wouldn't be receiving a credit for the company's mistake.
i cannot overstate how tired i am of dealing with spectrum. i'm not really surprised that they're able to get away with so much as they seem to have nearly monopolized internet service in the area, but there's no reason this should be happening. i will now need to wake up early and talk to yet ANOTHER agent on the phone, as i work full time and the customer service line is closed on weekends. i'm not even sure that will end up fixing the problem. there seems to be no consistency between agents and i don't trust that i won't get someone else telling me something incorrect or simply not following through. spectrum thinks that they can take your money with impunity, and that you'll simply let it lie because they make actually getting your money BACK-- the money they overcharged in the first place-- next to impossible. please look for alternate providers and save yourself the trouble.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - LC C.Columbus, OH06Apr 3, 2023
Spectrum is highly unorganized from a business practice perspective. The reps consistently call stating they don't have access to certain systems when there is no need to place calls and disrupt business operations to begin with. These continuous calls are highly disruptive, unnecessary, and are the result of dilapidated systems that don't read information that's already up-to-date. Avoid using spectrum at all cost unless you want headaches, inflated prices that don't align with promotions, and continuous bait and switches. This company should be closed and purchased by another Internet and cable provider that understands how business should be conducted.

This is a review of Spectrum as a business all together not necessarily just this location. We have been long time customers of TWC/Spectrum (7+ years and three different states) and all I can say is that they don't give a flying rat turd about their customers.
I'll start off with how we had TWC in Fort Drum, NY and then also at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Our last year in Hawaii TWC merged with or was taken over by Spectrum and all I can say is that's when our service tanked.
Since we restarted our service in Ohio in 2017 they have consistently jacked up our price. And not just the price hike going from the first year "new customer deal" to the regular customer price but every year after as well. In order to "support unplanned infrastructure development and improve service" or some other lame excuse like that with no actual evidence not backed up by any actual improvement of service.
Also when we had Spectrum come out for the original service install the tech was too lazy to run the cable correctly and instead just left it laying in our yard around 60% of the perimeter of the house.
Anyway back to the monthly bill. So our bill went from around 59.99 to 79.99 and it's interesting how these "unplanned bill changes" happen every November. What I find interesting is usually most companies want to retain long time customers and do so by showing customers that they are valued them - where as Spectrum just penalizes you regardless.
These price spikes paired with poor customer service and poor actual wifi service is what ultimately led us to end our service with Spectrum. We were paying for 100mbps and actually averaging mid to low 60s. Not to mention the regular outages and consistent issues we had with our router and modem (the ones that Spectrum requires you use).
Also, when my husband was deployed I was unable to access the account when I was experiencing issues even thought my name is on the account. Over the years I basically have only had unpleasant experiences with their customer service techs.
All of this is topped up with a big fat screw you cherry by making us pay for the full 30 days of the last billing cycle (ending Jan 26th). So even though we cancelled service on the 6th of January and only actually use about 10 out of 30 days of service we have to pay for the whole month. We went to this store to turn in our equipment and then a few days later got a bill for 120$ for "unreturned equipment."
Also how does it make any sense that we were paying 79.99$ for 100mbps and the 1gbps (10x more bandwidth!) is 104$ for the first two years. Of course they probably get their bill spikes every year too but it just blows my mind just how bad Spectrums business practices are.
How is it legal to make someone pay for a service they didn't even use? Not only that but how do they expect to retain and maintain a decent relationship with their customers? I will never go back to Spectrum unless I legitimately have no other other choice. We switched to T-mobile home wifi and it's only 50$ a month and we get 150mbps. Not only that but the customer service was AMAZING, they gave us free overnight shipping (20$) and the activation fee was waived (it was only a dollar). No cancelation fees, no contracts and no price increases. T-Mobile is doing it right! We have our phone through them as well so we'll have one bill now and be saving 30$ a month from what we were spending at Spectrum for waaaayyy better service and experience.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2019First to Review
Convenient. Right near Ted's and HCT, etc. And aside from the half-hour wait, not too bad an experience.
Check in at the table by the door. No one notices it- not me, not anyone else who came in. Staff have to call out "check in right there!" Which says to me, you need better signage or something to let people know what you want to do.
Anyway, check in, and wait. And wait and wait. All I wanted to do was drop off our modem, but it took forever, mid-afternoon. To be fair, both staff members were busy the whole time, and once I got called, the guy was cool, and efficient, and it only took a few minutes.
Nice enough place, sleek, bright, with a few things to look at if you're interested. I wasn't. And why was I returning the box? Found better internet elsewhere, cheaper and faster.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Cyndi M.Mason, OH3093135Mar 21, 2022
So canceled service to be able to move.. canceled One day into the next billing cycle.. So talking to Lynn at Spectrum was never told to wait till the end of the billing cycle to cancel.. so they put charge on my account of 50.00 dollars. I returned all equipment and thought after should call to make sure they canceled everything. No No they don't prorate the bill because it was one day in I need to pay 50.00 anyway.. would never use Spectrum ever! They so are dishonest

spectrum keeps raising rates with no improvements to service. Clearly don't care about customers, and the times we are in. Stay clear once you are with them they don't care about you anymore. Bottom line your a number and they just want that money.

I have used this store twice. Both times Corporate had to fix their mistakes. Filled with front line CSR not problem solvers. Expect a sales pitch not help. They are in full virtue signaling mode. They were way more worried about meeting the proper signals than fixing my issue.
I called Corporate and they are sending a tech to my place to replace the malfunctioning box that the sales staff was utterly clueless.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
