Absolutely gorgeous and unique glass pieces can be found at Blenko. It's about a 30 minute drive outside of Charleston. I loved the glass detail found in everything at the property. From the signage to the hallways, and the zen "glass garden" you can walk through. Upstairs, they have a museum area with a lot of interesting pieces from the past and history of the Blenko family and how the business began. Once you pass through the museum, you can walk into an observation area where you can watch the glass blowing process. Some of the artists actually spoke and walked us through the process which was neat to see and hear about. Finally, we went back to the gift shop where there was so much to choose from. I went home with one of the classic square vases in green, a suncatcher and a unique glass that my boyfriend will use for whiskey pours.

I called the Visitor Center today, just hoping there were any available star bowls in a specific color (currently not available online). Ashley assisted me and she was just so very professional, helpful, and friendly. They had what I was looking for and, thanks to her knowledge, I added an asteroid vase in my desired color (I was unaware it came in that color). She absolutely made my day with terrific stand out service! It was a super easy/smooth phone transaction. I love Blenko.

I have always admired the Blenko vases.
At a weak moment, I purchased two vases ... a cobalt blue and a white vase that when exposed to sunlight will glow in the dark (green). Can't wait to see it glow.
As you can see, the vases/containers are huge. I can't wait to use them. Hopefully, tomorrow I will make an addendum to my review when my vase glows in the dark.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Tanya E.San Diego, CA048Oct 13, 2022
what an amazing shop!! if you're in the Charleston area, don't hesitate to stop by Blenko. Each and every piece of glass is a work of art, so so beautiful. I fell in love with the pumpkins, each with it's own personality. They will look beautiful Halloween through Thanksgiving. The staff will bubblewrap your pieces so you can carry on the plane or gift box. I believe they will even ship to your home. All the staff is so friendly and helpful. LOVE BLENKO GLASS!!

Absolutely 100% encourage you to visit this iconic glass museum, for free. Enjoy the gift shop. lots to see.
If your lucky you will catch glass artisans blowing on premises. This spot is engrained in my happy childhood memory that never stops surprising me with local college, WV day or holiday pieces.
Worthwhile you taking a jaunt off I-64 and come in to pick up some art, stroll the grounds that need a bit of love.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Benjamin B.Red House, WV595426Aug 30, 2019
The Glass Art that this shop creates is simply amazing and beautiful! They're always releasing new designs, shapes, and colors. They also make custom one of a kind pieces as well as specialty runs such as the pieces they made
For the teachers strikes.. When traveling here there's a new Big beautiful sign with instructions on where to go. The gift shop is on the right across the train tracks. They have a large amount of inventory on hand in the shop. If you're looking to make a day out of it schedule a tour and go behind the doors where they pull the glass from the fire at extremely hot temperatures and shape it whether the blow it, form it, or put it in a mold. Take a little piece of Milton, WV home with you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 20, 2020
This place is absolutely a jewel and a must see...especially if you like hand blown glass. They are amazing and their work speaks volumes about just how good they are? I grew up near Ashland, Kentucky, and this is only thirty miles or so from where I lived. I go annually when I am visiting my family. Prices are more affordable inside their gift shop and have some amazing deals to check out....I'm going to encourage you to make a stop for you to see just how pleasantly surprised you will be...get back to me when you do!

This place was a major disappointment. Granted we were there on a Sunday, but there were no glass blowers on site. We were told that as soon as we walked in the door by the employee. The glass displays are lovely but the style is mostly modern and artsy which is not my taste. I was hoping for more down home and practical glass. This is one of two places we had specifically stopped in Milton for that day. This place is a little difficult to fine although there is lots of signage. We were told we could come back the next day at 9 a.m. to see the demonstrations but unfortunately we could not.

Gorgeous. I came here years ago when I became obsessed with the glassblowers in West Virginia. I'd read a NYT article about the specific type of sand they have in this area that is found nowhere else in the country. So, there are many glassblowers here.
Blenko is possibly the most iconic, it's been here for years. If you are a fan of Mid Century Modern, some of the most recognizeable pieces were designed and made by Blenko.
What I bought in the gift shop were a several chunks of solid, colorful glass. I never knew what to do with them, except put them on a windowsill for sun to shine thru, but now I think I may have thought of a use for them. . . .Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Lizz F.Baton Rouge, LA78369269Mar 4, 2013
Beautiful!
I came here to find my mother a birthday present. Blenko is one of the last blown-glass companies around. There's a section of the store with flawed items for cheap - but if you're not a glass maker it's often difficult to find any flaws!
I bought my mom a vase - had to send her half a dozen photos to choose from or I would have heard "they didn't have...?" or "why didn't you get me a bowl?" or "they didn't have it in [red/blue/green/clear]?"
The lady in the shop was helpful and friendly, and though I got there right before closing (by accident), she didn't rush me out of the shop. I bought a vase and a glass ring. Both have received praise from many people. I've very much enjoyed my purchases.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
