Founded in 2003, the Da Nang Cyclo Team has become more popular to visitors from both home and abroad

Popularly called ‘Xich Lo’, there is a tendency that a great number of foreign tourists prefer the cheap, convenient and unique three-wheel vehicle providing them with an unforgettable impression, and that would be pity if missed.

The Da Nang Cyclo Team, which is under the management of the municipal Tourism Promotion Centre.

The team consists of 70 members who have good health, can speak foreign languages, and possess first aid skills for customers, and have a grasp of the national Road Traffic Law.

Cyclo rides usually start in front of the Museum of Cham Sculpture.

As a matter of fact, dressed in the team’s uniform, almost all cyclo drivers are always helpful and friendly towards their customers, especially international visitors. Visitors often dub cyclo drivers as a living dictionary as they can narrate detailed stories about the city in the past and present day.

Interestingly, they also have a bunch of great tips, what to do, where to go, what to eat, where and how to buy souvenirs in the city at the most reasonable prices.

Each cyclo is painted brightly, elegantly, with a cushioned seat and a canopy which is kept half or entire spread out to help visitors feel secure whilst touring around the city, regardless of rain or sunlight.

Taking cyclo tours, visitors have the opportunity to go past many of such popular attractions in the city as the Da Nang Cathedral, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Bach Dang Street, and Han Market. The appropriate time to go take a cyclo ride is either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Besides, visitors can also use cyclo as a means of transportation to reach traditional  markets for shopping and best restaurants to enjoy local cuisine.

In the daytime, visitors can tour around the city by cyclo on 2 main routes. One is the Museum of Cham Sculpture - Bach Dang - Dong Da - Ong Ich Khiem - Hung Vuong - Tran Phu - Museum of Cham Sculpture. The other is the Museum of Cham Sculpture - Le Dinh Duong - Ong Ich Khiem - Hung Vuong - Tran Phu – the Museum of Cham Sculpture. In particular, visitors can optionally design their own schedules.

In the evening, visitors should not miss the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the eastern bank of the beautiful Han River along busy Tran Hung Dao which housses the Son Tra Night Market, the Bridge of Love Locks, and the 'Carp Turns into a Dragon' statue. During the tour, visitors can stop by any place they want to take photos or taste local dishes while the drivers wait politely nearby.
